I have been a Consultant for Thomson & Bancks since April 2019 advising on contentious probate disputes.
I deal with problems with estates, and wills, and intestacies including probate actions and where the mental capacity of the deceased is in dispute, as well as undue influence and want of knowledge and approval claims. I also advise on complex cases under the Inheritance (Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and litigation involving construction of wills, actions against personal representatives and trustees, and issues arising in relation to Powers of Attorney and matters in the Court of Protection.
I also advise on proprietary estoppel claims.
I act for claimants and defendants.
I am a Contentious Probate and Trusts Probate Specialist, through the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
I deliver pragmatic advice in sensitive situations, guiding clients through the system, and always trying to resolve matters through alternative dispute resolution.
I qualified in 1987 and having trained and spent my early career in London, moved to head up a large litigation team as a partner at a firm in Oxfordshire for the next 21 years, before becoming a specialist consultant in probate disputes.
