This Halloween, the Thomson & Bancks team have once again swapped legal files for mixing bowls and rolling pins.
On Friday 30th October, colleagues across our Tewkesbury, Pershore and Stratford-upon-Avon offices took part in the 11th edition of our Halloween Bake Off with six spooktacular entries from our star bakers across our offices. On this occasion, we were raising money for St Richard’s Hospice in memory of a friend of Thomson & Bancks. St Richard’s Hospice are a local charity we are proud to support and does remarkable work for families across Worcestershire.
As the competition was held across all three offices, votes were cast based on appearance only (which is probably best for our waistlines). After much careful consideration, the votes were checked and verified, and we can now reveal our top three entrants…
Halloween Bake Off Winners
After all votes were counted and verified, we were delighted to announce our winners:

1st place
Louise was crowned Star Baker for her Stingy Jack pumpkin cake, taking home gingerbread baking mix, as well as a gingerbread man cookie cutter, decorations and icing.

2nd place
Gina took a well-deserved second place for Terry The Tarantula, and received baking mix, decorations and icing.

3rd place
Third place went to Sam for her Place Pop Eye, which drew plenty of admiring – and slightly nervous – looks. The reward for finishing in the top three was gingerbread baking mix and a gingerbread man cookie cutter.

A huge thank you to everyone who baked, voted, bought a treat or donated, and congratulations to our winners. In total, we raised £169 for St Richard’s Hospice! This will bake a difference – one spooky slice at a time!

It’s nice to reminisce…
As it’s our 11th year of the Halloween Bake Off, we wanted to look back at some of the standout bakes since we started this friendly contest.
It’s hard to believe this tradition is now over a decade old, and it’s thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm, skill and creativity. We are proud to make this an annual team event that is still going strong. It has been important to raise both awareness and important funds for numerous charities, while sharing a fair few smiles together.
