This Halloween marked a special milestone for Thomson & Bancks, as we celebrated our 10th annual Halloween Bake Off!
Across our offices, ten talented bakers unleashed their creativity to produce a range of spine-chillingly brilliant cakes. From eerie decorations to inventive designs, the competition was as fierce as ever, with one unforgettable entry even set alight to reveal a hidden message.
As always, voting was based purely on appearance, since our bakers and cakes were spread across three offices – probably a relief for our waistlines! As with each Halloween Bake Off, we decided to raise money for charity, this year raising £144 for Bowel Cancer UK through staff donations for slices of cake.
Halloween Bake Off Winners
After all votes were counted and verified, we were delighted to announce our winners:
1st place
Desi, with her Hocus Pocus burning chocolate cake, taking home a spooky skeleton gingerbread baking kit and potholder.
2nd place
Viktoria, with her gruesomely impressive Freshly Harvested Heart cake, winning a scary shortbread biscuit kit and potholder.
3rd place
Anika, with her stunning Screaming Skull cake, earning a double chocolate chip cookie mix.

10 years in the baking…
It never hurts to look back – especially when it’s been ten years of baking scrumptious cakes for a great cause.
Who would’ve thought this wonderful tradition would still be going strong a decade later? We’re incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm, skill, and creativity that everyone brings to the table each year – not to mention the delicious results. Together, we’ve raised awareness, important funds for numerous charities and a fair few smiles along the way.
