Our History
Your partner in every legal step
The firm traces its history back to 1830 (the exact date has been lost in the mists of time) when Mr George Badham first started in practice in Tewkesbury. In 1897 Mr T Weldon Thomson had the audacity to open an office in competition!
Later, Mr Gordon Bancks started practice in Pershore in 1934. The Tewkesbury and Pershore offices became one firm in 1958 when the then partners of T Weldon Thomson & Co acquired Mr Bancks` practice. T Weldon Thomson & Co and Brookes & Badham merged to become Thomson & Badham in 1972 and January 2005 saw the joining of the firm’s names to Thomson & Bancks Solicitors. In 2018, Thomson & Bancks acquired Stratford-upon-Avon based Davies Murray-White.
We are proud of our tradition and history, which illustrates perhaps a degree of stability that clients over the years have found of immense value. However we realise that the future is infinitely more important. One of the major legal practices in the three counties, the firm has grown steadily to 8 partners supported by over 50 staff. Our experience and size, gives us the depth and breadth of personnel and technological support to handle a wide range of legal issues without compromising our personal commitment to clients’ individual needs.
This history, our quality service and belief in new technology has helped us become one of the most trusted and dedicated solicitors for the Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire area.
