Careers

Your partner in every legal step

Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive, trusted, and dedicated group of professionals who genuinely live by the ethos ‘You Matter to Us’.

With a strong sense of community, beautiful local surroundings, and a culture that values both career growth and a little fun along the way, it’s a place where you can truly thrive.

With a rich history dating back to 1830, Thomson & Bancks are a well-established and highly regarded regional law firm with offices in Pershore, Tewkesbury and Stratford-upon-Avon. Many staff living locally choose to walk or cycle to the office. Others travel from the wider county areas of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire to be a part of our team.

We are especially active in the district areas of North Gloucestershire, Wychavon and Stratford-upon-Avon and it is no coincidence that our offices are in Tewkesbury, Pershore and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Although many of our clients live or work within an hour of our offices, we welcome clients from across England and Wales who value the local, trusted, dedicated service we provide.

Our Culture

The work that you do will be varied and interesting, ranging from the routine to the complex and challenging. Your knowledge and skills will be put to the test by clients with high expectations of a personal service from their first contact with a Receptionist through to oversight by the Manging Partner. You will be supported as appropriate along the way by our Heads of Departments and Manging Partner who operate an open-door policy and encourage everyone to share any concerns and to learn from experience.

No matter which office you call home, you will be a part of a friendly, welcoming team in a relaxed but professional atmosphere.

As well as working hard, we also like to have fun and usually host a summer social and Christmas party along with small fundraising events such as a Halloween Bake Off and Christmas Jumper Day.

Treats are always appreciated with team members bringing in cakes and biscuits to celebrate their birthday or a well-deserved holiday and the Easter Egg Hunt gets very competitive! There is always an excuse for people to get together for lunch – birthdays, celebrating exam results, pay day or just because it’s Friday.

We pride ourselves on our ethos ‘You matter to us’, which we apply to both our clients and staff; members of the team who have returned after periods away will attest to this.

Local

Having town centre locations, helps clients to find us easily when they might pop into town for lunch or shopping. Whether it be the literary heritage of Stratford-upon-Avon, the Georgian market town of Pershore or the historic Tudor town of Tewkesbury, we are very lucky to spend our days in beautiful, culture rich surroundings.

Trusted

Our clients put their trust in us to act in their best interests with integrity and confidentially. We also believe in treating our staff in the same way. Whether you need assistance with a legal transaction, have a family emergency or require support with a medical issue, we hope you will trust us to help and support you to the best of our ability.

Dedicated

We are independent professionals who believe in serving our clients with care and attention. Our methods and knowledge are current. We are proactive in progressing and developing as a business. Our longest serving team member started as a secretary and became a family law specialist. There is the possibility to build a long and rewarding career with us.

We hope that you will assist in fortifying our values as you develop connections with colleagues and existing clients as well as establishing relationships with new clients and contacts.
